My GRE private tutoring sessions went very well. Elizabeth was very knowledgeable and prepared, with an academic and tutoring resume to match her skills. Even more importantly, she was kind and personable. The emotional side of studying for an exam can be key also. If you're scared or lacking in confidence, you're not likely to succeed. I went into my GRE prep not knowing much about what the test would be like, and I was anxious, but Elizabeth helped me calm down from our very first session. We came up with a plan, and with her help I soon discovered that both Analytical Writing and Verbal Reasoning were well within my strengths. I was extremely apprehensive about the Quantitative Reasoning, since I've always been bad at math, but Elizabeth helped me approach the math in a productive manner. Even when I was frustrated she was very patient and supportive, encouraging me to keep on going. I ended up scoring a 5.0 (out of 6) on the Analytical Writing and 168 (out of 170) on Verbal Reasoning. Even my 150 (out of 170) in Quantitative Reasoning was quite a bit higher than I expected to get on day one of my GRE prep. I couldn't have done it without Elizabeth. She was great at guiding my studies and letting me know I was on the right track. She was able to answer all my questions effectively and most of all, she was a person I could relate to. Elizabeth's friendliness put me at ease right from the beginning, and I truly enjoyed our sessions (something I never thought would happen). She is a great tutor because she has both knowledge and the ability to help you pick up that knowledge.
