She continued this work in the Bay Area but always thought about going back to school to become a doctor, something that had been in the back of her mind since losing her mother to cancer when she was 10. Finally, she took the leap, and attended Bryn Mawr's post-baccalaureate pre-medical program in 2015-2016. In her gap year before medical school, she worked in breast cancer research at UCSF, and fell in love with the school. Now she is a medical school student and feels strongly dedicated to helping other non-traditional, post-bacc, or other differently-advantaged medical school applicants make it to getting their MD. She spent her summer teaching MCAT to the UCSF post-bacc students, and would love to keep teaching a part of her life going forward.
