Introduction of Business School & MBA Program

The Richard Ivey School of Business is located on the University of Western Ontario's campus in London, Ontario, Canada. The Ivey MBA program was founded in 1922 and focuses on what it calls the Cross-Enterprise Leadership approach.

Cross-Enterprise Leadership

The Ivey School of Business specializes in training people for business in the ever-changing global economy of the 21st century. The Cross-Enterprise Leadership Module focuses on how great leaders are developed in the business world, with an emphasis on team teaching.

The average age of incoming students for the full-time MBA program is 28 years, with 5 years of average work experience. An important factor that contributes to a diverse classroom environment is that 40% of the students have significant work experience outside of Canada.

Interviewing at Ivey

Interviews are required of all applicants for the full-time MBA program.

Letters of Recommendation

Each applicant is required to submit two to three letters of recommendation, which should come from both professional and academic references.

GMAT Score

The average GMAT score in recent years has been around 670.

Application Essays

Each applicant is required to write three essays, with topics similar to the following:

  1. What are your professional goals and how will an Ivey MBA help you achieve these goals? (250 Words Maximum)
  2. During your twelve months in the program, what impact do you hope to have on your classmates and on their Ivey experiences? (250 Words Maximum)
  3. If you could be a field reporter anywhere in the world, where would you want to go and why? (250 Words Maximum)
