With a population over 1 million, San Jose is the third most populous city in California (after Los Angeles and San Diego) and the tenth most populous in United States. It covers an area of 179.97 square miles (466.1 square km) with its location in the center of the Santa Clara Valley and on the southern shore of San Francisco Bay. It is the county seat of Santa Clara County, the most affluent county in California and one of the most affluent counties in the United States. There are about 8 medical schools in California: University of California - San Francisco (UCSF), Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California - San Diego (UCSD), University of California - Davis (UC Davis), University of California - Irvine (UCI), Stanford University in Stanford, CA and University of Southern California (USC). Our MCAT instructors work diligently to help our students conquer the MCAT exam to gain admittance to these highly recognized universities.
Our San Jose MCAT instructor is an Oakland native who attended college on the East Coast at Yale University, graduating with a double major and honors in Ethics, Politics, and Economics and International Studies in 2009. She moved to the Mississippi Delta to work for Teach for America, teaching middle and high school science for several years before joining TFA management to help direct her science teacher training program in the region. She continued this work in the Bay Area but always thought about going back to school to become a doctor, something that had been in the back of her mind since losing her mother to cancer when she was 10. Finally, she took the leap, and attended Bryn Mawr's post-baccalaureate pre-medical program in 2015-2016. In her gap year before medical school, she worked in breast cancer research at UCSF, and fell in love with the school. Now she is a medical school student and feels strongly dedicated to helping other non-traditional, post-bacc, or other differently-advantaged medical school applicants make it to getting their MD. She spent her summer teaching MCAT to the UCSF post-bacc students, and would love to keep teaching a part of her life going forward. In her free time, she's a passionate rock climber and former yoga teacher, and she spend a lot of time outside with her rescue dog, Clementine.
Our highly effective MCAT instructors have the expertise to help you achieve a top score on your exam!
"Overall I would rate my MCAT preparation experience with Manhattan Elite Prep as excellent. I thought my tutor Myron was an excellent MCAT tutor, he was very helpful with my questions. He was always prepared and ready to help me. All topics and material were well-covered. The course material included was great, as well as the administrative support. I was very impressed with Myron's teaching ability, preparedness, expertise, his responsiveness to my questions and his accuracy. What made me choose Manhattan Elite Prep over their competitors were their prices." Tolga G. (5 out of 5 Rating on Google+)
