Spanish tutoring is available for all students looking to further their abilities inside and outside of the classroom! Our Spanish tutors provide instruction at the academic level by following the Spanish class's curriculum and preparing for upcoming assignments and tests.

Spanish Teacher: Nicole

Nicole H. speaks accent-less, fully bilingual Spanish and has lived, worked, and studied in many Spanish speaking countries, including Spain, Colombia, Chile, Panama, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. Nicole had grown up in Colombia during her childhood and was raised speaking fluent Spanish taught by her parents since birth. She began teaching 1st and 2nd year Spanish at a community college in Kansas City, and taught children and adults in California for several years afterwards as a Kids' Program Coordinator and Teacher Trainer.

Nicole had earned her B.A of Science and Arts in Literature from the University of Iowa with minors in Spanish and French. She also spent a school year studying in Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. Nicole had then went on to earn her Master’s in Education and earned her TESOL certification. Nicole has been an instructor for fifteen years and has a decade of experience teaching young adult intensive ESL/EFL as well; however, she spends most of her time teaching Spanish. Nicole's lessons are communicative and often involve games, music, podcasts, stories, and art (where appropriate and time-permitting).

Nicole also taught after-school Spanish and French programs to children ranging from 4-10 years old for over two years with a language school named Berlitz in California. For the last several years Nicole has had has taught and led writing clinics for Chinese and Chinese Americans aged 8-12. She had taught them persuasion/argumentation, narrative writing, vocabulary building, reading and general academic support. Nicole had also designed and taught a month-long, private English summer program for two Brazilian sisters, 6 and 8. She tailors the lessons to match the individual’s needs, goals, and learning style in order to ensure student growth and success.

Spanish Teacher: Stephanie

Stephanie L. is a Spanish tutor with Manhattan Elite Prep in Irvine, California. Stephanie has had over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish. Stephanie received her major in Spanish Language and Literature at U.C. Berkeley. When Stephanie was an undergraduate student, She spent two semesters in Mexico City, Mexico at the National Autonomous University of Mexico as part of the Study Abroad Program offered at Berkeley.

After graduation, Stephanie taught through an after-school program at an elementary school the Spanish language to children from ages 4 to 12 years old for five years in the Bay Area and in Orange County, California. Stephanie also taught Spanish to adults whom volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, an organization which provides free food and clothing to those who need it. Many of the clients spoke only Spanish.

Spanish Teacher: Maria

Maria V. is a native Spanish instructor with Manhattan Elite Prep who has been learning and teaching languages from a very early age. Maria was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador where she attended a fully bilingual Preparatory School and by the age of 12 was fully bilingual in English & Spanish. Maria's first volunteer job was teaching how to read and write Spanish to indigenous kids and adults in nearby villages through her church.

Maria's first real job became teaching Spanish to an Austrian national who was living in Quito at the time. This further ignited her passion. While earning her Bachelor Degrees in Marketing and Finance (as well as her minor in Advertising) from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, College of Business, Maria was given the opportunity to teach as a substitute instructor for a private bilingual elementary school. Maria then started working freelance for several language academies either teaching English/French to Spanish speakers or Spanish to exchange students. Maria went on to earn her MBA from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Project Management & Leadership.

She then decided to earn her second Masters from the University of Tampa - John H. Sykes College of Business in International’s Marketing. Maria was able to work for the Academic Center of Excellence teaching Spanish to undergrad students as well as working part time for the Tampa Language Center. Maria was then hired as Foreign Language Coordinator and taught K-12 at the Montessori academy in Tampa. There Maria learned amazing techniques to teach kids how to read, techniques that she still uses on a daily basis either when she teaches or when she helps her own kids accelerate.

Maria considers herself as a bi-native language speaker for both English and Spanish and a fluent speaker of Italian and French. Maria worked for corporate America for over 10 years and in 2016, Had decided to move into the consulting world (Marketing, International Business, etc) and continued her career path as a tutor, translator and independent trainer.
