IMD (International Institute for Management Development) was founded in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1990. IMD has gained global recognition for it's intensive Management training program that the select group of admitted students must complete. A typical full-time MBA class at IMD boasts roughly forty plus nationalities. Given this wide variety of diversity, IMD uses several different learning methods in order to increase student involvement. IMD incorporates a thorough interview process through: On-campus interviews in Lausanne, case studies, impromptu presentations, and several other interview methods. 

Three professional letters of recommendation are required of all MBA applicants.

  1. Please comment on a situation where you failed to reach an objective and what you learned from it.
  2. Describe a situation where you had to demonstrate strong leadership skills. Explain how effective you were and what you learned.
  3. How do you imagine your superior would describe your strengths and weaknesses to someone who does not know you?
  4. Describe a situation where you successfully worked across cultures and/or nations.
  5. If you are not admitted to IMD, what alternatives will you consider?
