HEC Paris School of Management Overview

Founded in 1881 and nestled on a large suburban campus in Jouy-en-Josas, the HEC School of Management has received global praise and recognition. HEC typically has around 200 full-time MBA students each year, who represent over fifty nationalities.

Snapshot of HEC Paris MBA Program

The 16-month MBA program gives full-time students a rare opportunity to study abroad at one of the many partner schools of HEC. It is not uncommon for students who choose this path to earn a dual degree in a related field of interest to the MBA degree.

During the first semester of study, French lessons are required as part of the full-time MBA program. Students who are already fluent in French are strongly encouraged to learn another language, in order to boost their appeal to global employers.

HEC has a unique interview process; only students who are invited to interview by the Admissions Committee are granted one. In recent years, a presentation has been required during the interview.

Two letters of recommendation from professional references are required of all MBA applicants.

  1. Why are you applying to the HEC MBA program now? What is the professional objective that will guide your career choice after your MBA, and how will the HEC MBA contribute to the achievement of this objective? (500 Words)
  2. What do you consider to be your most significant life achievement (250 Words)
  3. Leadership and ethics are inevitably intertwined in the business world. Describe a situation in which you have dealt with these issues and how they have influenced you. (250 Words)
